iTunes 9 breaks Sony Vegas

I recently installed iTunes 9 and love it. I also recently tried to edit a video on Sony Vegas. When I went to edit the raw video (a .mp4 file) the audio track was left empty. I did a system restore and everything was fine again. That was a few days ago. After editing the previous video I had to do some reinstalls as most times after a restore. The only program I had to add was iTunes 9. Today while editing the same problem arose and the same solution worked. Then I noticed that along with iTunes 9 comes Quicktime version 7.6.4. The previous version was 7.6.2. After reading a few blogs it turns out that 7.6.4 is required to run iTunes 9. Also everyone with the new version of Quicktime/iTunes and any version of Sony Vegas is having the same problem. I only know that this problem is with .mp4 files but I'm not sure about other file types.

So if you use Vegas don't install the newest Quicktime and iTunes. If you already have unistall 9 and install iTunes 8.2.1 (64 bit) or iTunes 8.2.1 (32 bit).

Happy Editing!
